Can I upload pins from a CSV file?

Yes, through third-party tools. Pinterest's own interface does not support CSV uploads, but Tailwind, Later, Buffer, and Hootsuite all do. Typical columns include image URL, title, description, destination URL, board, and scheduled time.

Typical CSV columns

  • Image URL or filename (the pin's visual)
  • Title (max 100 characters)
  • Description (max 500 characters)
  • Destination URL (where the pin links to)
  • Board name or board ID (where it gets pinned)
  • Scheduled date and time

Tools that support CSV

  • Tailwind — CSV bulk upload is a core feature
  • Later — CSV import on paid plans
  • Hootsuite — CSV import for Pinterest and other platforms
  • Buffer — CSV import on higher tiers

When CSV is the right approach

CSV is best when you have an existing inventory you need to migrate — for example, an export of pin ideas you'd queued elsewhere — or when you want full manual control over every field. If you're generating pins from your own ongoing content (blog posts, products), a sitemap-based tool is usually less work than maintaining a spreadsheet.

Set it up once. Pins go out forever.
